Teaching

Church School

Religious education is available for all ages (3 years old to adult) on Sunday mornings. Church School is offered from 9:30 am to 10:20 am every Sunday from September to May.

"Godly Play"

Preschoolers through fifth graders follow the "Godly Play" curriculum. This program is modeled on the Montessori approach of teaching. "Godly Play" provides an environment in which children feel safe and welcome . . . where they can learn the art of using religious language to encounter God and to find meaning in their lives.

"Rite 13"

Youth in 6th through 8th grades explore rites of transition to adulthood, and prepare to take their places as adult contributors to God's world.

"Journey to Adulthood"

"Journey to Adulthood" continues to guide youth 9th grade and up with spiritual formation that provides a liturgical frame for their experience in the modern culture and celebrates their individuality and their creative potential. Youth are provided with skills needed for successful participation in church and society, and are helped to move from their faith the faith of their parents to making faith their own.

Adult Education

Our adults enjoy a variety of offerings covering a range of topics. Over the coming weeks (January 6 through February 3), we will be "Confronting Contemporary Controversies"  on issues like Church and State, Prayer in the Public Schools,  Euthanasia, Creation or Evolution in the Public Schools, and  Homosexuality.  Join us for these challenging and enlightening discussions!

Nursery and Activity Center

During church school, the nursery remains open for infants, toddlers, and 2 year olds.  We also provide an Activity Center for children through 1st grade.

Education For Ministry

Education for Ministry (EFM) is a program of the School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. This excellent educational experience provides a comprehensive, experiential education in the foundations and message of the Christian faith for the laity of the church. When you participate in this program you commit to one year at a time, for a total of four years, to complete the program, meeting regularly in seminars to study the Bible, Church History, and Twentieth Century Theology.

The Education for Ministry group at St. Paul’s is mentored by The Rev. Mark Feather, and meets on Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. For more information about the EFM program, or to sign up, call the parish office.

Library

We have a large and growing library of books and other resources, located just down the hall toward the choir rehearsal space.  Our books are available for loan on an honor system.  Just find something that interests you and take it.  When you bring it back, just put it on top of the bookcases, and we will make sure it gets back to its logical location.  Many thanks to Jo and Donna Stuebe for organizing our books, and to Margie Thieneman for increasing our supply of new materials.  If you have any books that you think our library might be able to use, you may also donate them, recognizing that we evaluate all offerings based upon our available space, condition of the book, subject matter, and anticipated congregational use.  Come check out our library and find something to feed your spiritual life.
